Following the Federal Court’s decision not to continue the stay on the Contractor Driver Minimum Payments Road Safety Remuneration Order 2016, the RSRO is now in place for the industry.
The ATA is currently involved with stakeholder discussions with the Government on the future of the order. We will continue to lobby for the abolition of the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal and repeal of the Road Safety Remuneration Act in the next sitting of parliament.
Affected operators should ensure they are compliant with the order. The Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal has also released a calculator to make it easier for contractor drivers, hirers and others in the supply chain to calculate their minimum payments.
